Apologies for not posting earlier, but we feel like our feet haven’t touched the ground for the last couple of weeks! Serena and I have been working really hard to put together the stand at the Royal Bath & West Show this year… and it was brilliant!
As I mentioned in previous posts, we had a joint stand with fellow artist and friend Steve Hall. A massive thank you to Steve for all he has done towards this exciting venture… we couldn’t have done it without him. We would also like to thank and recommend the suppliers of the clip together board and lighting system that we used to hang the paintings. Clip (clipuk.com) in Warmley, near Bristol were excellent and the product worked a treat… thank you.
It was three very long and busy days and we had a fantastic time. There were huge crowds on all three day so lots of new leads, brochures given out and, rather nicely, sales too! (Oh, and a fair bit of fudge consumed too!).
What we didn’t sell at the Show is now hanging back at our gallery and Serena is full of enthusiasm and already painting again.
We are very excited and working feverishly towards the Bath & West in just 2 weeks! Serena and Steve have been painting up a storm and most of their work is now at the framers… nothing like cutting it fine!
The promotional stationary and posters have been printed and are ready and we can’t wait to get going…
We will be setting up in the Exmoor Hall at the show ground in Shepton Mallet on the Wednesday and then open from 9am to 6pm on the Thursday 2nd, Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th June.
We’re all looking forward to a busy jubilee long weekend.
We had a cracking night out yesterday as guests of the President of Larkhall Athletic FC, Steve Hall, to watch their midweek game against relegation threatened Mangotsfield United. The only negative was the result with the Larks going down 0-2 to the Mangos. It was a valiant effort by a depleted Larkhall team that was reduced to 10 men after a harsh refereeing decision. However, the welcome and hospitality shown by the club was amazing and we had a thoroughly good evening at what has to be the most picturesque football ground I have ever been to.
As match sponsors our advert was in the program, along with a really nice welcome message: “Joining Steve will be Mike Pugh and his wife Serena from SerenArts. SerenArts also sponsor Larkhall, having both a pitch side advertising board and a match day programme advert. Mike and Serena run SerenArts Gallery and gift shop next to the Tithe Barn in Bradford on Avon. In addition, Mike also offers design, printing and computer services”.
If you look very closely you can see our hoarding on the far side of this goal mouth action.
Good luck to the Larks for the remainder of the season and thank you again for a great evening.
Plans are now moving on quite quickly with this years Royal Bath & West Show. Serena will be exhibiting at the show with local artist and friend Steve Hall. We originally met Steve at the Bath & West back in 2010 and have been friends ever since. There is a lovely symmetry about returning to the place where things all started.
We have had confirmation that we are going to be in Exmoor Hall in the Gifts and Lifestyle section of the show. More information will follow as and when we get it, but we are very excited about attending this prestigious event again after all these years.
This year many of you may have been creating your own artwork and now feel ready to share it with your friends. At SerenArts we can turn those paintings into Christmas cards for you to send to your family and loved ones…
The above card was done from a watercolour painting by local artist Steve Hall. Steve has just opened his own gallery in Bradford, in conjunction with a number of other artists and we wish him success in his new venture.
If you would like more information about turning your artwork into a special Christmas card, please contact us at any time.
We are very pleased to tell you that we will shortly be finishing the final draft of Steve Hall‘s latest book of his paintings entitled ‘My Way With Watercolour’…
We have worked with Steve over many years now and always enjoy his honest and fresh approach to watercolour painting and the beautiful body of work that we are able to put together for him in this latest collection.
We will bring you more information of when the book goes to press and where you will be able to buy a copy. In the meantime, if you would like more information about Steve’s work, or our book formatting services, please feel free to contact us at any time.
If you would like more information about this event, you can visit Steve’s website and maybe purchase one of his stunning watercolour paintings, prior to the sale date on 25th October 2014. Steve’s paintings feature in many galleries around the country and this is a rare opportunity to obtain an original watercolour at a greatly reduced price.
SerenArts is involved with many local individuals and organisations, helping with their advertising and promotional requirements. For more details, just go to our website or contact us at any time.
SerenArts work closely with many local artists to reproduce their work in a variety of forms from fine art giclee prints to greetings cards. Steve Hall is one of our longest standing clients and a wonderful watercolour artist based in Bradford Leigh, Bradford on Avon. This superb picture of an elephant is one of Steve’s first forays into the world oil painting…
As part of his work Steve performs demonstrations on how to paint with watercolour, as his loose style allows him to create pieces in around 30 minutes. He has found that oils take somewhat longer to paint! Well worth the extra time we think though.
If you would like more information about having prints etc of your artwork, please contact us at any time.
