Only three more sleeps and we’re able to reopen our gallery to all you lovely people…
Everything is ready to welcome our customers back and our shelves are stacked with great Christmas pressie ideas. There is a great choice of gifts available from all the units at the Tithebarn Workshops.
A huge thank you to everyone who has continued to support SerenArts Gallery during Lockdown 2:0 and we very much look forward to seeing you all again very soon.
The clever people who have set up this selling space have already got over 7000 members and over 300 stalls selling a range of gifts suitable for Christmas pressies. This not only gives customers a chance to buy locally while many shops have to remain shut, but also supports local small businesses and producers during these very difficult times.
With just over a week to go until the end of ‘Lockdown 2:0’ we thought we would give you a little update on how things are going at SerenArts Gallery.
Like many small businesses, this enforced closure could not have come at a worse time of year, hitting Christmas sales from our gallery very hard. Although we have transferred the bulk of our shop items into our online shop and made Serena’s artwork available on her website, there is no doubt the coming months will be a challenge. I made the mistake of calculating the percentage of annual retail sales that we would expect in November… not a good idea!
However… what these lockdowns have done is galvanise local people into looking nearer to home and supporting local firms in these difficult times. We have noticed a marked increase in ‘Bradfordian’ customers and enquiries, which is great for the local economy (and ours!). Hopefully, when we reopen after this current closure, people won’t have spent all their pennies with Amazon and we will see a lovely last minute rush for pressies!
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our existing and new printing customers for their fantastic support during this period. We have had a large number of Christmas printing orders and continue to offer our ‘essential’ photocopying service.
Due to the current Government directive, we are still unable to have our lovely gallery open, so here is an opportunity to purchase a set of 8 of Serena’s unique Glass Art Christmas Cards.
Featuring festive scenes each card is hand painted on a glass microscope slide and mounted on a card measuring approximately 185mm x 75mm. Every card comes cellophane wrapped and with a quality envelope.
The above price includes postage and packing, or local Bradford on Avon delivery.
The orders for Christmas card printing are coming in thick and fast at SerenArts. One of our regular clients, Sue Bannister, who always produces glorious felt artwork every year for her cards has excelled herself again this year…
We have scanned in her work and made up the cards as a 5″ x 7″ greeting card with a quality 130gsm envelope.
If you would like more information about turning your artwork into Christmas cards, please contact us at any time.
Serena is nearing the completion of her latest project… an oil on board of Bradford Bridge and the Avon. This iconic scene measures 32″ x 16″ and will be going to our friendly, local framers as soon as the paint drys. It will then be available to purchase via her website and on display at our gallery (as soon as we’re able to reopen).
The more eagle eyed viewer will notice Serena highlighting her Southampton FC mug in the foreground. Whether it acted as inspiration for this artwork is up for discussion, but she was rather excited when her beloved Saints topped the Premier League for the first time last night!
If you would like to see more of Serena’s artwork you can visit her website or follow her story on Instagram.
