Midweek Match

We had a cracking night out yesterday as guests of the President of Larkhall Athletic FC, Steve Hall, to watch their midweek game against relegation threatened Mangotsfield United. The only negative was the result with the Larks going down 0-2 to the Mangos. It was a valiant effort by a depleted Larkhall team that was reduced to 10 men after a harsh refereeing decision. However, the welcome and hospitality shown by the club was amazing and we had a thoroughly good evening at what has to be the most picturesque football ground I have ever been to.

As match sponsors our advert was in the program, along with a really nice welcome message:
“Joining Steve will be Mike Pugh and his wife Serena from SerenArts. SerenArts also sponsor Larkhall, having both a pitch side advertising board and a match day programme advert. Mike and Serena run SerenArts Gallery and gift shop next to the Tithe Barn in Bradford on Avon. In addition, Mike also offers design, printing and computer services”.

If you look very closely you can see our hoarding on the far side of this goal mouth action.

Good luck to the Larks for the remainder of the season and thank you again for a great evening.

Barton Farm Country Park

Not much chance of spotting the kingfishers that regularly visit the Barton Bridge area this morning…

Some much needed tree chopping over at the Rowing Club has meant frequent trips through the ford and over the bridge for this tractor and trailer. It always looks a bit odd seeing vehicles on Barton Bridge!

On another note… plans are progressing for the Cloth Road Arts Week at the Tithebarn Workshops. We now have 5 artists / makers participating from 30th April – 8th May 2022. (Serena Pugh | Helen James | Jacqueline Byrne | Karen Mizak | Mary Petrovska)More information to follow soon.

Bradford on Avon Tea Towels

Just a quick post to let you know that we will shortly be getting in a new collection of our very popular cotton tea towels

This time, we have gone for a collection of local photographs as well as art images, all by Serena.

The will be available to purchase from our gallery later this week and also from this website.

Royal Bath & West Show 2022

Plans are now moving on quite quickly with this years Royal Bath & West Show. Serena will be exhibiting at the show with local artist and friend Steve Hall. We originally met Steve at the Bath & West back in 2010 and have been friends ever since. There is a lovely symmetry about returning to the place where things all started.

We have had confirmation that we are going to be in Exmoor Hall in the Gifts and Lifestyle section of the show. More information will follow as and when we get it, but we are very excited about attending this prestigious event again after all these years.

The Canal Ware has Arrived…

Well, this is very exciting! We are thrilled to let you have a first look at the beautiful range of hand painted canal ware that has just arrived at SerenArts Gallery.

If you saw our previous post you will have seen that these delightful pieces are all hand painted (no transfers or stencils) by a lady who spent over 15 years in and around Bradford on Avon, on the Kennet and Avon Canal. Once the Caen Hill Locks reopened, the country’s waterways were open for exploring and off she went.

We are really pleased to be able to offer her stunning work from our gallery to locals and visitors alike.

Greeting Card Printing

We have just had the pleasure of printing another batch of greeting cards for graphic artist David Snashall. You can follow his work via his Instagram or by visiting his website.

If you would like more information or a quote for putting your artwork on to greeting cards please contact us at any time.

Canal Ware

We are very excited to announce that we will shortly be getting in a range of hand painted canal ware items at SerenArts Gallery.

It is something we have been thinking of doing for a number of years now and we decided that 2022 is the year to add even more colour to our gallery.

Here are just a few examples of the beautiful pieces we have coming in…

They are all hand painted by a lady who spent her first 14 years boating here on the Kennet and Avon Canal. Once the Devizes locks were opened up, she started exploring the stunning waterways of this country, paying her way by painting these wonderful pieces of canal ware.

We will post again to let you know when the range will be available to purchase.

SerenArts Book Design

serenarts book design and printing

I was going back through some of our earlier posts and came across one I did after the first week of Lockdown 1. We were promoting our book design and printing services to those of you who now had the time to write that book you’d always talked about. After all the subsequent incarcerations you should be finished by now and looking to get yourself published!

Here at SerenArts we can take your draft book and guide you through all the stages to getting to publication and welcome your active input at every stage. For example, we have just been commissioned to design a book of watercolour paintings taken from a large collection of sketch books. The sketches are by a lady who recently passed away and her son wants her paintings to be shared with family, friends and the public.

To discuss your project with us and find out the costs involved, why not give us a call (01225 868644) / email, or pop down to the Tithebarn Workshops to visit our gallery.
