The dry stone wall by the entrance to the Tithebarn Workshops has been receiving some much needed TLC today. The extremely talented Jem Hobbs has been putting his stone mason talents to very good use. If that isn’t impressive enough, you can also see his fabulous stone pieces in Unit 3 (The Make Space), also down here at the Workshops.
A beautiful morning up on Epsom Downs for the first full day of Art Surrey…
We are at the Racecourse, in case you hadn’t guessed, for day 1 after a successful opening evening last night. Serena’s work got lots of lovely comments and we even had a modest sale!
Here’s hoping the gorgeous weather brings everyone to this marvellous event this weekend.
We are planning on having an Autumn Fair in the gardens of the Tithebarn Workshops on Saturday 28th October 2023. We will be inviting a limited number of creative people to take part by having a stall and doing what you do! If you are interested in joining us or would like more information, please contact us at any time.
As we have more details we will let you know, but with the all new line up here at the Workshops its certain to be a fun day.
After a day and a half of faffing about trying to make changes to our SerenArts Gallery website I have officially given up and gone back to our tried and trusted design, with a few colour and image alterations. Luckily all our previous Blog posts miraculously reappeared too, which is a bonus!
While I’ve been messing about Serena has been busy painting more fabulous pieces for the rapidly, upcoming Surrey Art Fair (6th October). You can see her latest creations on her Instagram but here’s a taster…
As usual, there is no pigeon holing Serena with her art style as these two completely contrasting works show. The peonies on the left are on a 30″ x 30″ board and painted in oils whereas the lady on the right is a 12″ diameter board painted with acrylics.
We thought it was about time that we changed the theme of our WordPress website for SerenArts Gallery… and what happens?… all our blog posts disappear! All 506 of them!
So, here we go again. This was taken today outside our beautiful gallery, in the glorious sunshine. Definitely what you’d call an Indian Summer.
We will try and keep you up to date with all the comings and goings at the gallery.
Over the last couple of days we have been getting in all sorts of new goodies! From additions to our jewellery collection, with some fabulous new designs and colours… to a range of canal boat models in both wood and brass.
Come on down to the Tithebarn Workshops and check out the new stock and see all the changes that are happening.
Firstly we would like to welcome the new arrivals at the Tithebarn Workshops. Things have been changing recently and in the coming weeks we will have not one, but two new workshop owners…
Jade Pinnell Glass
Jade is an original cast glass sculpture and will be taking over in Unit 5. You can see some of her beautiful work on her website jadepinnellglass.com. Once established, Jade will be offering classes so keep in touch to find out more details.
Natasha Sweeting
Natasha is a Tanzanian artist living in Bradford on Avon. Her work is heavily influenced by her birthplace and where she has spent much of my adult life, Dar-es-Salaam. A city of cultural diversity, a juxtaposition of religious beliefs and layer upon layer of complexity. Natasha is currently refurbing and will then move into Unit 8.
As for SerenArts… well Serena is currently painting up a storm for the upcoming Surrey Art Fair at Epsom Downs Racecourse. We will bring you more information about this exciting event as it draws nearer to the opening night of 6th October.
Our first two months in our lovely new unit have now passed and it feels like we’ve always been here. This wonderful creative space inspires us both every day we come down… which has been pretty much every day to be honest!
This is the stunning view that meets us when we open the front door at SerenArts Gallery. We have completed our first month in our beautiful new gallery at Unit 1 Tithebarn Workshops. We have to pinch ourselves every morning we come to this creative and special space.
Things have been going very well and we have been overwhelmed by the reaction since moving in to the new gallery. The space is constantly evolving with new paintings from Serena and new jewellery and gift ideas arriving all the time.
A big thank you to all our regular customers and the many new visitors we have seen since opening our doors and we look forward to seeing you all again soon.
Things are moving on quite nicely in our new Unit 1 home. The new exterior colour is going on and the rewiring, plumbing and maintenance jobs are all coming along well. No fixed date yet for our grand opening, but we will keep you posted!
This is the space we are going to be building into our beautiful new gallery / workshop and we can’t wait for everyone to see it. Very exciting indeed!
This handsome fella hopped into the gallery yesterday… chirping quite happily. He then jumped over and sat on Serena’s latest kingfisher painting in the window. More chirping… then he decided he would make his way back to the garden… via the window! Absolute chaos ensued as paintings, jewellery and the rest of window display was strewn around until I was able to open the window and out he went… happy and unhurt. He did leave a few little deposits in the window but no harm done! I guess this is what happens when you regularly feed the birds in the garden.
