Time has been catching up with us a bit at SerenArts Gallery and it’s time we told you a little more about Serena’s upcoming 2014 Exhibition. It will take place from 1st August to 3rd August 2014…
This years exhibition is entitled ‘Lacquer & Lens’ and features her latest work in Glass Art and Photographic Art…
As a break with exhibition etiquette, we will be having an open evening instead of a private viewing. We much prefer the informal nature of the evening, but fear not…. drinks and nibbles will still be provided!

We have just come back from a week ‘En France’, taking photos and soaking up the local culture… a business trip of course!
While based near Carcassonne, we did take a trip down to the coast and travelled through some beautiful places. One of the most stunning was Collioure…
In the early 20th century Collioure became a centre of artistic activity, with several Fauve artists making it their meeting place. Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Charles Rennie Mackintosh, amongst others took advantage of the fantastic light and picturesque architecture in their work. There was a host of galleries and exhibitions and even metal frames along the beach to look through and see what the artists would have seen. I have removed rather a lot of people from the beach though! A very inspiring place for any artist to visit we would say.
Our apologies for the long gap since our last post, but I’m afraid we had to go down to Carcassonne in the South of France for a week! Of course, it was a photography, working trip for Serena!
We’re now back and have brought the lovely weather with us.
One project we have been asked to work on since getting back is a photograph restoration job for a client. She brought in a very creased old photograph of her mother who was one of the Pears Soap Babies. Having restored the image, we then mounted and framed it for her and the results were absolutely gorgeous!

We just wanted to say a big thank you and good luck to all those taking part in the Big Bradford on Avon River Clean today.
Volunteers are being encouraged by John and Annette Seekings to help with the clean up between Avoncliff and Greenland from 9am to noon and 2pm to 5pm today. The banks of the Avon got an absolute battering from the floods this Christmas and, as ever, when this happens a great deal of rubbish is left high and dry in the trees and bank foliage.
Members of the Bradford Rowing Club and the angling community are all involved and for anyone interested in lending a hand, there will be a supply of black plastic rubbish bags on the McKeever footbridge and full bags will need to be left on a special site immediately downstream of Barton Bridge.
