Anthony is a very accomplished watercolour artist based up in Cleveland County. His work has been featured in the Mall Gallery in London as part of the Armed Forces Art Society – (AFAS) annual exhibition since 2011. He wanted to promote his work to a wider audience and decided to have a new responsive website designed that would easily be viewed across all platforms.

We have been doing quite a bit of work for local artist Andrew Critchley recently. He wanted a range of his vibrant oil paintings printed as greeting cards for an exhibition in Holt, Wiltshire. We have put a little selection of his work on the Blog for you to enjoy. It is quite rare to see such intense and striking colour in oils and we think these are lovely examples and made great cards…

I’m sure Anthony won’t mind me revealing his age to you… at 82 years young, these truly are exquisite pieces of art. His ‘day job’ is picture restoration, but he can clearly turn his hand to his own creations with great effect.

The photographs are all Giclee printed on canvas:
Left ~ ‘Golden Heart’ (30″ x 40″) – is a view of Christ Church and the Old Windmill taken from St Margaret’s Hill. Serena has used Photoshop manipulation techniques to create this atmospheric and striking town scape of Bradford on Avon.
Top Right ~ ‘Olive Grove’ (30″ x 30″) – depicts a cart in an old olive grove on the Greek island of Kefalonia.
Bottom Right ~ ‘Mooring Glow’ (30″ x 40″) – shows a Dutch style barge on the Kennet & Avon Canal in Bradford. Using post photographic procedures, Serena has produced this emotive local scene.

I know we’ve been badgering the local council to come up with some new signage to promote the Gallery and the Tithebarn Workshops, but we were very surprised to see the idea they had come up with!…
We understand this is only a temporary measure, so we look forward to seeing what long term solution they might come with!

SerenArts work closely with many local artists to reproduce their work in a variety of forms from fine art giclee prints to greetings cards. Steve Hall is one of our longest standing clients and a wonderful watercolour artist based in Bradford Leigh, Bradford on Avon. This superb picture of an elephant is one of Steve’s first forays into the world oil painting…
As part of his work Steve performs demonstrations on how to paint with watercolour, as his loose style allows him to create pieces in around 30 minutes. He has found that oils take somewhat longer to paint! Well worth the extra time we think though.
